About Dan

An energetic young leader that is going to support Democrats on and off the ballot.

Dan currently serves as a legislative aide for Delegate Linda Foley in the Maryland General Assembly. In his current role, Dan oversees various pieces of legislation and constituent outreach services that focus on the environment, transportation, and labor issues. Dan supported efforts to ban gas-powered leaf blowers, relieve supply chain congestion, and modernize administrative processes. He’s had the chance to build relationships with members of the community, including various elected officials, and has supported Democrats up and down the ballot.

Leading at the University of Maryland

Previously, Dan was the Student Body President at the University of Maryland where he represented over 30,000 students. Dan worked with the city of College Park to engage students in census outreach efforts and voter education and registration efforts. In addition, he served on the city’s Charter Review Commission as the youngest member. While Student Body President, he allocated over $800,000 to support student services across campus, including providing direct financial relief to students affected by the pandemic and creating over 48 student jobs on campus. He served on various community committees including ones to manage the pandemic, enhance the University and City partnership over the next 10 years, and served on the Board of Governors and Board of Trustees for the University. Dan has been recognized as a Top Ten Freshman at the University of Maryland, along with Sophomore Leader of the Year. In his senior year, Dan received the Spirit of Maryland Award and Model Citizenship Prize by the university for his continued devotion to campus life and the improvement of the student experience. 

Community Involvement

Dan has worked with companies across the world to support their business growth efforts. He had the opportunity to work with a community-based organization in Kenya looking to expand their capacity-building training which spurred his interest in the intersection of business and development. In addition to his Kenya-based consulting project, Dan has consulted companies in Portugal, the Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Uganda, and Kenya.

 

In his free time, you will find Dan hiking the Billy Goat Trail, enjoying the diverse food options across Montgomery County, and watching all sorts of international sport competitions.
